Peace on earth, Good will Toward Men: My Christmas Message

Luke 2:10-20 describes the angel of the Lord tells the shepherds about the birth of the Lord Jesus not far from them.

What is interesting in the passage is that the angel says this to them in V.. 14
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.......

So he question is this:  What peace on earth?   One of the most dangerous places in the USA right now is your own home with rapes, domestic disputes and child abuse, the statistics are staggering.  Police officers in this country;  25% of all the deaths of officers is during the domestic dispute response.  It's disgusting.

And do you think it's more safe in Pakistan or Chicago?  Who knows these days.  One things for sure it's not very safe any place.

So let's clear this up.  "peace on earth" the angel was talking about this:  The peace that Jesus through his death and resurrection would bring between the people who accept Him as Lord and Savior and Go.  For th Christian there can be GREAT pace right here on earth.  Peace between yo an God and Peace in your heart knowing that you are in the ultimate goal and purpose of God, His mercy, His grace and His protection.

Spend time every day making peace with Go. It's worth it!!!

Sorry about my typing errors, I just had laser eye surgery.  God Bless and Merry Christmas!!

Unforgiveness: Drinking Poison and Expecting Someone Else to Get Sick

 FORGIVENESS

#1.  MAT.   18: 21-35  21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]

23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

(This was Millions of Dollars I read)

28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.

(This was only a few dollars I read)

He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured (Tormented) , until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

This one passage of the Bible is going to set someone free tonight because it answers lots of questions for us about our life today!!!!!!!

So what’s going on in this passage?  Peter asked a question, but wants to be especially HOLY.  The Rabbis taught that we should forgive 3 times, so Peter says I’m going to impress the Lord.  And asked if it should be 7 times.

So Jesus said..no no no no no.  Seventy times Seven.  Meaning we don’t keep track, we need to lose count.   We don’t keep numbers!
We need a case of amnesia when it comes to people offending us and sinning against us.

Sometimes we forgive BIG sins but we hold small grudges, small debts against people, on the road when someone pulls out in front of us, we over hear someone make a comment about us, the worker gives us a parking ticket.  No God want’s you free, WE want you free.  But you can’t be free if you keep that grudge..................

You know what’s important to God?  Everything - those tiny tiny matters that you might give a second thought.

Unforgiveness prevents God from forgiving our sins
#2.   Mat 6:14-15    For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Unforgiveness hinders our prayers

#6.  MARK 11:25   And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

Unforgiveness can give Satan an advantage

2 Corinthians 2:10-11, 10 Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

What is our example in the bible

#1.  Isaiah  43:25    "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

#2.  Psalm 103:12   as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

#3.  ACT 7:59-60  While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Then we all remember Jesus on the Cross - “Father forgive them for they know no what they are doing”

Do You Believe In Angels?

My kids were sliding a steep yard that ended with a wooded area.  Just inside the wooded area was a large pile of cinder blocks - jagged and unforgiving.

One of my kids went down fast, did not get to slide off and went right into the woods onto the pile of cinder blocks with only a kids blow up tube.

Another one of my kids (my youngest) stopped immediately at the edge of the woods at a high speed with nothing but an angel there.

Thank you Jesus so much for protecting my children.  I love you God and appreciate you putting your angels "charge over all their ways" like it says in Psalm 91.

She Came to Test Solomon With Hard Questions...............

1 Kings 10:10 Says this:  When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions.

When you have wisdom and wealth and you are blessed of God you will be tested.  Look at the rest of the text............v. 2  He was tested with more Gold and wealth and questions.  If you are the King at the top you will always be tested with riches.

What will you do?  It's OK to be wealthy and have riches but it's not OK for the riches and wealth to have you!!

So Queen of Sheba thought she could stump Solomon, but You can't stump God.  This is not just another good story.

If we are in our prayer closet, we won't be stumped either because we will be hearing from God Almighty!!

"And You Shall Do Greater Things Than Me.........." Not What You Might Think.

In a powerful message recently I learned that I was off in my theology in the book of John.   And I'm glad I'm humble enough to admit it.

John 14:12 Jesus said this:  Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Now I'm not going to go into great detail.  But the "greater works" that Jesus was talking about was getting more people saved.  Not more miracles.

Think about it.  Who do you know can stop the wind and waves, raise the dead EVERY TIME, walk on water and even cause a boat to sink because he caught so many fish by just speaking a word?  Only God can do that!!!

But many people through out history have lead many more people to the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior because of the Holy Spirit of Truth whom Jesus sent.  Acts says and ye shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be witnesses of me to the ends of the earth.

Between the Holy Spirit and technology people are able to lead 1,000's of people to God.  And that's TRUTH!!

What is Bitterness? What is Unforgiveness? What if I Don't Forgive Someone?

Check this out...........Bitterness and Unforgiveness toward someone is like this to you:  It's like you drinking poison and expecting it to hurt someone else!  Think about that!

It's holding another person to a debt that they will never ever be able to pay.

And it's serious in God's eyes.  Mat 6:14-15    For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.  That's serious to me!

Sometimes we forgive BIG sins but we hold small grudges, small debts against people, on the road when someone pulls out in front of us, we over hear someone make a comment about us, the worker gives us a parking ticket.  No I want you to be free!  That’s what I want and you can’t be free if you keep that grudge..................

Those small things is what matters to God just as much as much as the
big things.  Forgive and forget.  I saw a saying someplace that went something like this:

The first person to say I'm sorry is the bravest and the first person to forgive is the strongest, yet the first person to forget is the happiest........

That's what God did for us.  Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

And again:  Isaiah 43:25  "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Be blessed!  Be Free!
