Christians Be Encouraged: Verses on God's Power

I just wanted to write to all the Christians in the world and tell you to be encouraged because "Power belongs to God",  "Jesus is sitting on the right hand of the power of God" and God's enemies can't stand up to the greatness of his power (Psalm 66:3).

Further more "God rules by his Power Forever"!  And He's on your side!!!!  He is not mad at you, He loves you and you are still the apple of His eye!  And God "has given you powers over all the powers of the enemy"  And "his divine power has given you all things that pertain to life and Godliness"  What an awesome thing to ponder all day long!

I know things don't look good in the world today and I agree, but God is letting it all happen!  And Scripture is being fulfilled.  Hand in there, because pretty soon if you are truly His child we will all be Jesus.

8 Ideas to Make Your Christian Life More Exciting When you Are in A Slump

If you sometimes feel like you need to bust up the monotony even as a Christian you are not alone.  Most of us feel this way at one time or another.  Some of us are a little more transparent.

1.  The first thing to do is change your routine a little.  For example: if you are used to always praying I the morning then pray in the evening for a while.  Mix your prayer life up - you can talk with God anytime.  He won't fall asleep on you - I promise!  Get Pray for something else or someone else for a while.

2.  Let's discuss your devotions now.  Change how your read the Bible for a while.  Go to a website like Biblegateway.com or another author you like and study there devotions.  Or read a good Christian book if you are finding the Bible a little dry.  You can also listen to your devotions on many websites instead of just reading.

3.  Begin serving at church.  Help out behind the welcome center or help do some clean up - do anything!  And if you are serving already then request to shift to another position for a season.  It's always good to get different perspectives from with in your church.

4.  Reach out!  Get your wife and/or children involved in your Christian walk.  Take a walk and take turns sharing things you are thankful for from Jesus.  I do this with my family and we have NEVER ran out of things to be thankful for.  If you don't have a family then get together with another Christian friend.

5.  Try a different church.  For all you 'religious" folks that may sound way too drastic.  And I do believe that you should be "planted" in one place so you can grow.  But if you are struggling then make a change for a week or two.  Or if you have been going to the 10:30 service all your life then go to the 8:00 service.  Again, it's about shaking things up enough to bring the excitement back during this dry season you are going through.

6.  Step out of your comfort zone, get a group together to go bowling or out for another activity.  The most dangerous thing is for you to stay alone.  Because the devil can play with your mind.  Stay with other sheep one way or another.  Remember this, it's the sheep that wanders off that the wolf can devour.  Your safer with the other flock.

7.  Take one verse in the Bible you like or a verse that strikes you heart and do two things:  First memorize it, second meditate on that one verse for an entire week if you have to so God can get that ting down into your belly and get you excited about that promise or that truth.

8.  Last and maybe most important.  Buy someone some groceries.  Cook someone a dinner.  Go mow some ones lawn.  Volunteer to serve any place at all that is encouraging or productive - hospitals, a nursing home, United Way, Red Cross, any place you can find to bless someone else.  And when you do that it's the most important thing to coming around in your own life.

I hope these help

Is Hell Real? Is Hell a Real Place?

Is Hell Real people ask me sometimes.  The answer is YES.  Hell is very real and a place we don't want to go!

Psalm 55:15 says Let death seize them; Let them go down alive into hell, For wickedness is in their dwellings........

The book of Proverbs talks about Hell.  Chapter 7 and verse 27 says Her house is the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death. and Proverbs 9:18 says this:  But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of hell.

Then Proverbs 23:14 says You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.

Jesus talks about Hell all the time because He did not want people to go their.  He mentions it 3 times in Mathew 5:22, 29, and 30.  He mentions it several other times in Mathew.

In Mark 9:45 Jesus said this:  And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched.

2 Peter 2:4 Says this:  For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment............

Hell is also described in Luke 16:19 in the story of The Rich Man and Lazarus.  It's an incredible description of Hell and gives us a hint of it's suffering.

I hope this helps!

How Do I Get To Heaven?

How do I get to heaven?  I'm glad you asked.  I'll tell you.

Acts 4:12 says there is one name under heaven by which men can be saved (Jesus Christ)

Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus (that Jesus is Lord) and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved.

Jesus said  in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man comes to the father by through Me"

John 3:16  says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him should not die but have everlasting life.

Romans 3:23 says this:  For everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God

But 1 John 1:9 says this:  If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness......

Oh and just so you don't make things too complicated Romans 6:23 says this:  the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is life eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord.   It is a GIFT, not something we can earn.

So basically confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord of all (especially other Lords/Gods which He is) ask Him to come into your heart and save you by washing you clean by His precious blood.  And believe that He is who he says he is..........the son of the living God and that he died (for your sins) and God raised Him from the dead.

What is in the Bible About Science? Is Science in the Bible?

Science and the Bible have much in common.
Let's begin in Isaiah 40:12  Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
Measured heaven with a span
And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?
Weighed the mountains in scales
And the hills in a balance?

Then in V.  22 God says "he sit's enthroned above the circle of the earth"  In our human brilliance we once thought the earth was flat instead of believing the Bible.

We once thought that there were between one and two thousand stars but the God tells us in Jer. 33:22 that the stars can't be numbered.

Job 26 says that God hangs the earth on nothing.  I don't want to know what we thought LOL.

In our Human wisdom we used to do a thing called "blood letting" when someone got sick which was draining the blood out of people because we thought it would make them better.  The Bible says this "the life of the flesh is in the blood" in Leviticus 17:11

God laid the foundations of the earth and determined it's measurements in Job 38

So lots of science is in the Bible, it's a matter of us taking the time to study it and even lot's of medical science and I love how the Bible in psalm 104 describes even the lions.   Read Psalm 104 because it is awesome!!!!

How Can I be Happy? What Can I do to Be Happy?

I first want to make a statement that I am not giving medical advice but only a suggestion that has helped me and many of my friends.

Some other ideas.....I mentioned so you remember include:  cook a meal for someone, volunteer for the United Way, a local church, a soup kitchen, find an elderly person in your neighborhood and simply knock on their door and ask if there is any way you can help him or her for free.  By some groceries for someone.  Do something.  It can be done and you can do it!!
