Scriptures on Healing

There are plenty of powerful scriptures on healing in the Bible.  In fact Jesus dying for our sins and healing our diseases really can't be separated in the Bible.   Check out these verses and you will know what I mean.

  1. 3 John 1:2 "it's God will you be in good health and prosper even as your soul prospers"  In this verse 'soul' and "health" are tied together.
  2. Psalm 107:20 says this "He sent forth His word (which is Jesus) and healed me (diseases) and rescued me from all destruction" (which is Hell)
  3. 1 Peter 1:24 says this:   "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."   There it is again, both sickness and sins taken care of by Jesus.
  4. Isaiah 53:5 says this:  But He was wounded for our transgressions,
    He was bruised for our iniquities;
    The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
    And by His stripes we are healed.   Once again both sickness and sins taken care of!
  5. Psalm 103:3   "Who forgives all your iniquities,
    Who heals all your diseases,"   Forgives sins and heals diseases!  Our God does both!  Here are some other healing scriptures for your encouragement!!
  6. Psalm 30:2-3  O Lord my God, I cried out to You,
    And You healed me.
    O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;
  7. James 5:14  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
  8. Psalm 118:17  I shall not die, but live,
    And declare the works of the Lord.
  9. Psalm 91:16  With long life I will satisfy him,
    And show him My salvation.”
  10. Proverbs 4:20-22   My son, give attention to my words;
    Incline your ear to my sayings.
    21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
    Keep them in the midst of your heart;
    22 For they are life to those who find them,
    And health to all their flesh.   (I love this passage........it's so encouraging to me!)
  11. Exodus 23:25   “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
  12. Mathew 9:35  Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
  13. Exodus 15:26  and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Let me just add a foot note to these awesome promises from God's word.  Listen carefully.  If you  need healing you have to really meditate on them.  These healing scriptures will work but not if they are in your head only..........they need to sink down into your heart and belly!  So keep meditating on them day and night until they sink way deep into your spirit.  And speaking of Him, ask the Holy Spirit to help you do jus that.  And He will.

Remember also Mathew 8:1-4 says this:  When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Jesus said to him "I am willing"  I love that.........Jesus is always willing, don't forget that!  Always be watching for the sun to shine through!

Getting Through Hard Times

Getting through hard times is not easy.  But it's also not impossible.  In 2 Cor. 12:9 God says "my grace is sufficient....."   Sufficient for what?  For everything.

His grace is sufficient for a low financial situation, it's sufficient for a tragedy in your life.........we know!  We have been there.  I'm speaking from experience, not on a whim.   If you lose your job, God's grace is sufficient.

No matter what it is, God's grace is enough to get you through if you look to him.

All of us should have Psalm 30:5 committed to memory.  It says this:
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.

Don't forget this ever.  Hang in there!  Jesus loves you!  Look to Him for getting through hard times.  I have, and he has never let me down.........EVER.

He will rejoice over you with singing.”

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

What We Learn From David And Goliath

What we learn from David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 is different from different ministers.  And here is a different perspective.

The Israel Army was Terrified of Goliath!!  But when David entered the picture there was a momentum shift.

He told King Saul he would fight Goliath.  And what did he have to endure?  First his older brother called him wicked and ridiculed him and then the King said to Him..........."You Cant' Do It"

It's so interesting that when we have a vision, a goal or a dream, it's so often the people closest to us like a brother or someone who calls us a friend who will be the first to put us down and say....."You cant to that"  What they are really saying is this.  "I don't have enough faith to believe for your success or mine"  or they are saying is I call myself your friend but I really DON'T want you do succeed because I'm jealous.

David endured both!  But he had an above all from Eph. 6 where the Bible says above all things take up the shield of faith......and that's what he did.  Those remarks from his brother and the king did not even get to David because they hit a shield of faith and then fell right to the ground.

Second David understood the that battle belongs to the Lord because if he read the text closely he told King Saul and Goliath that the Lord will defeat both the giant and the Philistine armies on that day.

Finally he understood the power of the tongue and an attitude of faith.  Once again he SPOKE into being a Giant with no head and he SPOKE into being a defeated Philistine Army..............and both things happened.

Lastly I believe he took 5 stones from the brook not because he thought he might miss Goliath, but just in case any other Philistine wanted some of him.

I hope this blessed you!

What Does Faith Really Mean?

Here are some things about faith you might not have thought of before..............
1.  Faith is NOW, it's not tomorrow, or next week, but it's now.  The Bible says "Now faith is......"   If we wait to have faith to witness to someone they might die and go to hell tomorrow.  If we wait to apply for that promotion until tomorrow because we are afraid then someone else might get it tomorrow.

Our faith has to be a NOW faith.......that is what God wants.  When David faced Goliath his faith had to be a now faith or the battle might have been lost.

2.  How does faith work?  Faith works by love this is what Gal. 5:6 tells us.  David and Daniel were both men of great faith, but their faith was energized by love for their God.

When you have a dream you need an "above all"  because someone is going to say to you "you can't do that" and most likely it's going to be a family member or a close friend.  So you need an above all and what that above is gets explained in Ephes.  "Above all take up the shield of faith............."  You better have your shield up today because you might have a dream tomorrow.

How do we have faith?  We fix our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  This is what the Bible says in Hebrews 12.  Jesus will help us write the first sentence, paragraph, page, chapter and book on our faith.  He will perfect our faith if we keep our eyes on Him so we are established and cannot be moved.  We won't be moved because of his great love that surrounds us.

God Bless You!
