What We Learn From David And Goliath

What we learn from David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 is different from different ministers.  And here is a different perspective.

The Israel Army was Terrified of Goliath!!  But when David entered the picture there was a momentum shift.

He told King Saul he would fight Goliath.  And what did he have to endure?  First his older brother called him wicked and ridiculed him and then the King said to Him..........."You Cant' Do It"

It's so interesting that when we have a vision, a goal or a dream, it's so often the people closest to us like a brother or someone who calls us a friend who will be the first to put us down and say....."You cant to that"  What they are really saying is this.  "I don't have enough faith to believe for your success or mine"  or they are saying is I call myself your friend but I really DON'T want you do succeed because I'm jealous.

David endured both!  But he had an above all from Eph. 6 where the Bible says above all things take up the shield of faith......and that's what he did.  Those remarks from his brother and the king did not even get to David because they hit a shield of faith and then fell right to the ground.

Second David understood the that battle belongs to the Lord because if he read the text closely he told King Saul and Goliath that the Lord will defeat both the giant and the Philistine armies on that day.

Finally he understood the power of the tongue and an attitude of faith.  Once again he SPOKE into being a Giant with no head and he SPOKE into being a defeated Philistine Army..............and both things happened.

Lastly I believe he took 5 stones from the brook not because he thought he might miss Goliath, but just in case any other Philistine wanted some of him.

I hope this blessed you!
