Activity For Young Adult Ministry

We did an activity the other night with our young adult ministry.  And the power of God was so strong in the barn.  It was awesome.

Here are the best 3 thing about the event.

1.  No one had to speak a word (I'll explain in a minute)
2.  It only cost me under $7
3.  I got EVERYONE to participate which was so awesome.

Here is what we did.  To set the example I did mine prior to the beginning of "180" which is the name of our young adult ministry.

I took a White hard sheet of paper and  on one side shared my who I was before Jesus Christ and then on the flip side shared who I AM with Jesus Christ my Lord.

The response was so amazing.  Everyone was dead silent and everyone was very eager to participate themselves.

And that is what we did!

I then explained to them how powerful their testimony really is and sometimes we don't have to even speak one single word!!!!

Thank you Jesus for showing up and showing off how much you have actually nailed to the cross.
I will always Love You Jesus,
Billy

And Here is where I am now...............All Glory to Jesus!!!!

Be Ready in Season and Out of Season........

2 Timothy 4 is an awesome chapter.  But it's a tough one for us to abide by.

V. 2 says this:  Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching.

Be ready when your are not ready, be willing when you are not willing.  Be willing when you don't feel like it especially.  It's easy to talk Jesus in church.  But what about in the grocery store after you leave church or at the gas station before you get there??

And what's worse is that in V. 3-4 says this:
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

So people are not going to want to hear what you have to say because you have the truth and that means they have to be accountable to it.  Then it even gets worse.............In verse 5 the Lord tells us through all of this  "
But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

It's tough these days to tell many people about Jesus who really don't want to hear it.  But we don't know one CRITICAL thing:  who it is that ..........."it is the power of God unto salvation for those who believe.............."

One out of 50 might get saved.  But all Glory be to Jesus for that one soul.

Then finally during that time when everyone abandons you just
remember these words spoken by the Apostle Paul at the end of 2 TImothy 4 in verses 16-17 -
At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them......But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion...."

Even when you think you are alone, YOU NEVER ARE!!  When Everyone else abandons you.........Jesus will give you comfort, love and strength.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God..........

Matthew 6:33 Tells us to "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness"

Wow, it's a tough thing to do with the life most of us live today - there is no doubt!  But it can be done!  The Devil is a liar and there is no truth in HIM.  Don't be deceived by him into thinking you don't have time to seek the Lord.  That is utter non sense for both you AND I.

We will know the truth and the truth will set us free right?  Well the truth is this:

there are 24 hours in each and every day.  And no person in the world gets more hours in that day than you do.  But they are wiser with those precious minutes.

So how do you seek first the face of God?  Let's keep this very simple.  You give God time before you do ANYTHING.  Let's break it down a little more.

Don't dare turn your computer or tv on until you spend some time with the Lord Jesus.  Check it out - when we begin to seek God first instead of giving Him our left-overs if there is anything, I believe He is working behind the scenes on our behalf in some way shape or form.

He might give you an extra sharp mind that day.  He might give you a promotion.  The piles of work you have to get done?  I've seen God in my own life actually send someone to take some of my work load off my back.  After all, I'm his child and what kind of God do you think we serve anyway?  A God who is not capable of blessing after we spend time seeking His precious face?

No he can do anything He want's anytime He want's and he does just because He loves us!!  And he Loves you!

So the next thing that is important is this - you don't have to spend hours and hours seeking Gods face all the time..  God knows sometimes all you have is 15 minutes.  But make that 15 minutes critical part of your day.  We have 24 hours in a day, do you think we can give God 15 minutes?  Even if you choose in you heart to give Him 15 minutes each and every day I still think it's OK AS LONG AS YOU give to Him and do with desperation.........seek Him with everything you have!!!  And He will honor that.

24 HRS - 15 MINUTES.  Make a resolution for Jesus!
